The State of the City

BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL @ JONES MILLBANK

VIDEO EDITING/ COLOUR GRADING

Bristol City Council comissioned Jones Millbank to produce an authentic look at the impact COVID-19 has had on the City, to both preceed the Mayor's annual State of the City address and to be used across social.

The video features several Bristol's business owners and care-workers sharing their struggles during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. The narrative approach was to bring awareness about the entire situation and also show the great power that community has in Bristol.

China's silenced feminist

BBC @ SHY GUYS

Art direction/ pre-production
MOTION GRAPHICS/ COMPOSITING

Complation of graphics created for BBC's short documentary China's Silenced feminist.  A film about Sophia Huang Xueqin, a journalist and campaigner woman that kickstarted the #MeToo movement in China - where feminism is see as a threat to patriarchal autoritaian rule. She was detained for her beliefs.

Working alongside the BBC Current Affairs production department, We sticked to a very reduced colour palette to avoid taking attention from the main delicate topic, and the BBC's red as the contrast with the black and white palette to enhance the appalling nature of the story.

Alice in Wonderland
Collection

  Art direction/ pre-production
video editing/ motion graphics
colour grading

Promotional launch of The Royal Mint's series

of coins commemorating Alice in Wonderland,

in partnership with the V&A in London.

Created with the Jones Millbank team.

I participated in the creative team to figure out the world of Wonderland, creating a physical prop

to the animated world, as well as the collaboration

with the production team to create the world

within the book using the original illustrations.

I was also in charge of the full edit, SFX and

colour grading with Da Vinci Resolve.

It was a great honour to work on this project

from beginning to the final delivery, having

the chance to experiment a combination

of techniques to bring the narrative to the next level.

Digifest 2021 - Reimagined
Ident and socials

Art direction/ pre-production
video editing/ colour grading

Based on Jisc's Digifest festival 2021 theme and duality of colours for that year's branding, we aimed to create an engaging set of visuals that represented the interconnection within the physical and digital world and draw both excitement and curiosity for the festival which was held online due to Covid-19.

Alongside the Jones Millbank team I created a series of visuals representing the digital world that then with the team at Jones Millbank projected on several individuals.

After that I used Da Vinci to push the feeling of an ethereal space where real world and digital coexist.

The 95th Birthday of
Her Majesty The Queen

the royal mint @ jones millbank

motion graphics

To celebrate the 95th Birthday of Her Majesty

the Queen, The Royal Mint wanted to relase a video showcasting the coins created for the ocasion.

I was given a still floral illustration that was going to be part of the packaging of the coins representing the flowers of the United Kingdom, and was asked to create a project that showcased elegance and celebration of a lifetime. So I created a piece that reflected the feeling of looking thorugh a personal diary full of dear memories where the flowers would get more abundant with the passage of time.

The Royal Mint liked the project so much that asked us to do a TVC version to be showcased on TV.

50 YEARS OF MR MEN

THE ROYAL MINT @ JONES MILLBANK

CREATIVE DIRECTION/ PRE-PRODUCTION
ANIMATION/ VIDEO EDITING

Project for the celebration of 50 years of Mr Men.

The Royal Mint wanted to bring the characters to life and make fun and characterful videos that reflected the humour and purity of Mr Men.

Collaborating with the filming crew team, I created an integration style to bring the famous Mr Men and Little Miss characters into the real world.

The result is a collection of three videos for each coin being released.

This was a project that required a lot of planning and crossed communication between within the entre production team. from script to final delivery,

Could underwater
farms help fight
Climate Change?

AYANA elizabeth Johnson Megan Davis @ ted-ed

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT/ motion graphics

Educational piece about different types

of aquaculture and their various levels of

sustainability, or lack of it.

The aim of this educational piece is to show and bring

awareness towards the impact of water farms by

showing some potential solutions to the matter.

For this project I had the chance to collaborate

with a couple of amazing animators and friends

Yuki Kijima and Marcos Gonzalez to create an

animation about Aquaculture for TED Ed. We were

given the script and storyboard and by creating

our own assets and animating different scenes we

managed to put together this inspiring piece.

50 years of 50p

video editing/COLOUR GRADING

Short form documentary to celebrate 50 years since

the unique design of the 50p coin came to be.

For the occasion, The Royal Mint reunited the coin's original designers to bring back the memories of its process and what was behind the creation of the coin.

With a combination of interview led footage, B-roll and archive footage, the video aims to portray, with a hint of nostalgia, the real engineering process that was to come up with such complex piece of design.

Beacon brand video

CIOSLEP @ JONESMILLBANK

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
STORYBOARD / motion graphics

Project for a new online tool called Beacon, which aim is to help improve mental health and disability in the workplace, focused in small businesses.
Jones Millbank was commissioned to develop a pack of animations to guide the users through the platform and help them understand its full potential.
The communication with the client was key from the beginning in terms of creating an overall style that they will be using, not only on their animations, but as an overall brand.

It was amazing to have the trust from the team at CIoSLEP to come up with a visual representation of such a delicate and abstract topic

BRAND VIDEO

DEFI RECRUITMENT @ SHY GUYS

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT/ MOTION GRAPHICS

DeFi Recruitment was launching a completely new brand in the world of decentralised finance. Their target audience is young, digitally conscious and content-savvy, and to make an impact,

As well as establishing how and where they operate, the brand video adopted a satirical tone of voice to poke fun at traditional notions of branding. An epic, sardonic voiceover combined with a medley of animation styles and branding clichés created a video that established DeFi Recruitment as engaging, unique and creative, but also as a brand that didn’t take itself too seriously.  - SHY GUYS
